As a company, we take the mental health of our staff seriously and aim to provide as much support as possible to anyone who needs it. We believe that no-one should suffer in silence, and are keen to ensure that every staff member is aware that we are available to help them.
So, with this in mind and believing that no-one should suffer in silence, we recently sent a group of staff on a 2-day MHFA training course to develop their skills and teach them how to identify and respond to signs of mental illness, and how to offer support to those in need.
Topics covered during the training included:-
- Understanding mental health and how it affects everyone
- Learning how to spot signs of mental illness and addiction
- Developing skills to approach and support someone in need
- Learning how to empower someone to access the support they need
- Understanding how to support positive wellbeing and challenge stigma
- Learning how to use verbal and non-verbal skills to engage in appropriate conversation
We now have a range of AGS One Mental Health First Aiders in different locations across the business who can be approached for help.
